Cassis et Marseille

Cassis et Marseille
Our ride to Cassis took us through the beautiful Luberon hills. We passed by the town where Jean de Florette was filmed.
Unfortunately due to the 110 kilometer per hour wind gusts from Le Mistral, our planned boat ride was cancelled. Instead we visited a museum about perfumes and toured the area by little tourist train. At the perfumerie, Students learned to identify different smells which are used to create perfumes.9CF247BFE27461088C7B9D84719F9BAB.jpg
Next the group boarded a little train to visit the cliffed coves of Cassis. Despite the high winds, the sun shined brightly on the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean.
The force of the Mistral wind surprised many of the students.

Students had brick oven pizzas and fried squid salad for lunch in Marseille, France's second largest city.

After lunch we drove by Le Vieux Port. Le Vieux Port or old port has served as a port since the Romans.

Our last stop of the day was the Mucem museum in Marseille. The museum highlights Mediterranean culture and history. 9D219618CCBE77900ADB43E95ABA7A7A.jpg9D229A67F905FA5D1B1B2203A8C3AB21.jpg9D23C1F4C491F0F7DA7E61AF8FDA6CED.jpg90_9D24E6279CC8D6DBCCE9EEFB7B87EC24.jpg90_9D2643FF0E112992A9402AFA20367119.jpg

Students will now spend the weekend with their French host families.
Bon week-end!
