Ile sur la Sorgue et Avignon

Over night the famous Mistral wind began to blow. Winds of 80 kilometres per hour greeted the students at the bus stop this morning. We traveled about 45 minutes to the Provençal town of Ile sur la Sorgue. This little town is known as the "little Venice." 90_67C890FA91EAF48BB2EC22448D20BBA6.jpg180_67CA06960524D8D6DEAD7C433D5B2F95.jpg90_67CB64AAF90BD1D04E6918D3979BE640.jpg180_67CCCD55947755BE533A0ACD1F3A78F3.jpg180_6802F7C004736F98569E82A6C5A02080.jpg180_68019E7AD83B4529F415D2299C77A92B.jpg180_680085A7AAD3F30F6738978C7C8E5907.jpg
During our morning walking tour, we explored the weekly outdoor market. Students enjoyed delicious locally-grown strawberries and other fruits and vegetables.
One student purchased ruby red shoes and clicked them together as we chanted...."There's no place like France, there's no place France"
After some time for lunch and shopping, we headed back to Avignon for a reception at the town hall. Students were greeted by the Assistant Mayor.
It was another great day. We beat our walking record.... off to the Mediterranean tomorrow.
